Woodinville Whiskey Co. Limited Release Straight Bourbon
Yesterday Woodinville Whiskey Co. announced the release of their first ever straight bourbon whiskey.
We’re excited to announce our 2013 special release date! On Saturday, December 7th, 2013 we will be releasing our “2013 Limited Collector’s Edition Bourbon.” This special release will be the first 5 barrels of whiskey we ever made at Woodinville Whiskey Co. We have 207 bottles of a bourbon that has rye as the flavoring grain, and 388 bottles of bourbon that has wheat as the flavoring grain. It has been aging in standard sized barrels for almost 4 years. This collector’s edition bottle features a custom pewter label and custom display box. Doors will open at 7am and we’ll have coffee and doughnuts for all at 6am. The retail price for a 750ml bottle including all tax is $149.95 with a limit of 1 bottle per person. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you!
I’m proud to work with these guys. They are producing some fantastic spirits and they’re doing it with soul – and lots of local flavor (not to mention local grains). If you haven’t already seen their recent behind-the-scenes video, it’s worth a watch. Video by Travels Through Images.
I’ve been working quietly behind the scenes for many months, attempting to create for them packaging that commands the respect the product deserves. They have put their heart and soul into the whiskey and so I have done the same for the sake of the labels and box. This has been a multi-faceted and multi-dimensional process and it’s not over yet. A great many paper samples, materials swatches, ink chips, and process tests have exchanged hands. The local printers and vendors we’re working with are doing an outstanding job helping us keep the production quality as high as the vision demands.
Boxes are printing at McCallum (AKA Direct Connect Group) in Ballard right now. I attended a press check for those this morning and they were looking great. Tomorrow they will be die cut and foiled. I look forward to sharing more photos in the near future.
For now, however, I can only show you labels, which arrived on my doorstep via FedEx this morning. So I took a few photos. I hope to see you out there in line at the distillery. Until then, enjoy this little preview.
